Also rooted in Pennsylvania history, RHUBY refers to Pennsylvania’s favorite seasonal treat, Rhubarb. In 1771, founding father, Benjamin Franklin, brought the first rhubarb seeds to America. They were a gift for his friend, John Bartram. Bartram was the King’s official botanist in the colonies and founder of America’s first botanical garden. Legend has it that Bartram and Franklin experimented with the rhubarb to brew a refreshing garden tea made of vegetables, herbs and spices including beets, carrots, lemon, pink peppercorn, petitgrain, cane sugar, and of course, rhubarb. Art in the Age has turned this legend into a vibrant, organic 80 proof garden spirit.
RHUBY is distilled from certified organic ingredients including rhubarb, beets, carrots, lemon, petitgrain, cardomom, pink peppercorn, coriander, vanilla and pure cane sugar and captures the essence of a colonial garden. Its lush aroma is accented with notes of pink peppercorn and petitgrain. The flavor is marked with carrots and beets, balanced with bright citrus and true rhubarb tartness.
It wasn't easy to find organic rhubarb, but we kept at it. And we think you'll find the result is well worth it. Tangy, but not too tangy. Sweet, but not too sweet. Crisp and refreshing. Like drinking a country garden on an early summer night.
