We're all stuck at home, and can't just pop out for cocktail ingredients — so we've been revisiting some old recipes and adapting them to what you might have on hand. The Cucumber Quarantini adds cucumber juice and celery bitters to the standard vodka martini, adding some fresh, green flavor to a classic recipe.

Cucumber Quarantini

  • 2 oz. Powderhorn Vodka *All out? New Liberty Distillery is offering local pick-up as well as shipping during this difficult time...order HERE.*
  • 1 oz. Dry Vermouth
  • ½ oz. Cucumber Juice
  • Pinch of Sea Salt
  • 2 dashes Celery Bitters

Quarantine Troubleshooting:

CUCUMBER JUICE - If you don’t have a juicer, just muddle two 1/8 inch thick cucumber slices in the bottom of the shaker before adding the other ingredients. In order to remove the pulp, be sure to filter the liquid with a fine strainer before serving.

CELERY BITTERS – No time to shop around for this? Try muddling celery seeds and coriander seeds with the salt and the cucumber juice in the bottom of the pitcher before adding the vermouth and the vodka. Be sure to filter the liquid with a fine strainer before serving. This will remove the leftover grit from the muddled seeds and leave the texture of the drink nice and silky.
